iLuvVivid News | When the Wall Becomes a Canvas: A Dialogue About Color, Texture, and Improvisation
On January 16 in Shanghai, iLuvVivid and IDEAT hosted the “Infinite Possibilities of Artists” New Year Salon, a conversation around color, texture, material, and artistic expression.
Artist Ni Zhiqi improvised with iLuvVivid art paint on site, using palette-knife strokes to show that coating can become a tactile painting language rather than only a decorative background.
The event also introduced new 2025-2026 samples, including the Dunhuang-inspired “Three Rabbits Sharing Ears” series, Year of the Horse totem effects, humanity textures, ethnic-pattern textures, travertine, stone, and wood-grain inspired finishes.
CEO Sophia Wu shared that color and texture shape how long people want to stay in a home. Chairman Melvin demonstrated the brand’s “zero black pigment” technology, showing how color can remain clean and translucent under different lighting conditions.
Artisans demonstrated totem-making techniques with scrapers, embossing rollers, and detail tools, turning color science into texture art.
The salon closed with a conversation about inspiration from film, art, culture, and daily memory. The series will continue, with future sessions exploring light, shadow, texture, and the second skin of architecture.
